  • Manage the WEBDEV accounts.

Setup/Update

These options allow the server administrator to authorize and configure the remote setups and updates.
  • Lock the server (for an update)
Used to simplify the update of a site by preventing any new connection from any new Web user. For each new connection to one of the WEBDEV sites found on the server, the Web user receives a message informing them that the site is momentarily unavailable. This message asks them to retry later. The Web users who are already connected can continue to use the WEBDEV site.
Remark: During an update by FTP, the updated WEBDEV site is automatically locked.
  • Allow the connection parameters to be updated
Allows the server administrator to authorize the connection parameters to be customized when installing a site by FTP. If this option is checked, the connection options defined by the site creator will be taken into account. If this option is unchecked, only the connection options defined in this tab by the server administrator will be taken into account. The custom options will be ignored.
Caution: The remote setup and update of WEBDEV sites are performed by FTP. For more details, see Deployment via FTP.
  • Allow the remote site setup
Allows the server administrator to authorize the setup of dynamic WEBDEV sites on the server by FTP.
  • Allow the remote site update
Allows the server administrator to authorize the sites installed on the server to be updated by FTP.
  • Versions 18 and later
Allow the setup of sites with same name for different users:
Allows the administrator to authorize the deployment of several sites with the same name on different WEBDEV accounts on the same hosting server. This option is very useful for shared hosting.

  • Versions 26 and later
The option "The root of the "http[s]://<server>/" server lists the installed applications" allows the administrator to authorize the use of the "http[s]://<server>/" syntax to list the sites on the server. In this case, the "http[s]://<server>/" syntax shows a page with a link to each site installed on the server.

Log file of setups

The log of setups is used to trace the installed elements of a site. This log is very useful before you contact Technical Support if errors occurred during the deployment.
To use the log of setups, simply specify the full path of the corresponding file ("WDInstall_log.txt" file by default).

WEBDEV accounts

The "Edit accounts/Import from previous versions" link allows you to configure the accounts of different sites managed by the WEBDEV administrator. This link allows the host to launch the WEBDEV Hosting Control Center.Remark: The link "Edit accounts/Import from previous versions" is only available in the deployment version.
