  • Find out the number of records to print (for a report based on a file, a memory zone or a query).

Note: From version 19, HFSQL is the new name of HyperFileSQL.

// Modify the maximum number of records to print

Remarks

Number of records

  • ..NbRecRead returns the number of records selected by the source of the report (query, view, memory zone or Table control).
  • ..NbPrintedRec returns the number of records selected both by the source of the report AND by the filter code (if it exists).
  • For a report based on file, ..NbRecRead and ..NbPrintedRec return the same value: the number of records found in the file AND selected by the filter code (if it exists).
  • ..TotalNbRec is used to find out and modify the number of records to print. The number of records to print will be included between 1 and ..NbPrintedRec.

Type of report

If the report is linked to:
  • a HFSQL file, the records to print are selected from the beginning of the file.
  • a query, the maximum number of records to print can be known and/or modified in the description of advanced options of the query. To display the advanced options of the query linked to the report:
    • Select "Edit the query" from the popup menu of report. The query editor is displayed.
    • Select "Query description" from the popup menu of the query.
    • In the window that is displayed, click the "Advanced" button.

Limit

..TotalNbRec cannot be used on a report without data source.
