Syntax
<Table control>.ModifyLine(<Subscript> [, <Element column 1> [... [, <Element column N>]]])
<Table control>: Control name
Name of control to use. This control can correspond to:
  • a Table control.
  • a TreeView Table control.
<Subscript>: Integer
Subscript of row to modify. The subscript of first row is set to 1.
Subscript equal to -1The current row is modified. No effect if no row is selected.
Subscript greater than the number of control rowsA WLanguage error occurs.
<Element column 1>: Optional character strings
First elements of modified row. The values of these elements replace the existing values. Each element corresponds to a column. Each type of modified element must be compatible with the type of relevant column.
<Table>.ModifyLine has no effect if none of these parameters is specified.
<Element column N>: Optional character strings
Nth elements of modified row. The values of these elements replace the existing values. Each element corresponds to a column. Each type of modified element must be compatible with the type of relevant column.
<Table>.ModifyLine has no effect if none of these parameters is specified.
Remarks

Use conditions

<Table>.ModifyLine can be used on:
  • a browsing or memory control,
  • a single-selection or multiselection control.
AndroidiPhone/iPad The TreeView Table control is not available.
AndroidiPhone/iPad The browsing Table controls are not available in edit. <Table>.ModifyLine cannot be used on a browsing Table control.

Characteristics of row elements

  • To modify the value of an element in a row, use the following syntax:
    TableName.ColumnName[RowSubscript] = NewValue
  • If an element corresponds to the calculation result, the numeric expression must be enclosed in brackets.
    For example:
    TABLE_CalculationTable.ModifyLine((53+29),(83-21))

Browsing Table or TreeView Table control: Modifications in the linked data file

  • If the cascading input is enabled, the data file linked to the control is automatically modified when the user goes to the next row.
  • If the cascading input is not enabled, the data file linked to the control is not modified. To write the content of the modified row into the linked data file, <Table>.Save must be used after <Table>.ModifyLine.
Remarks:
  • The "Cascading input" option can be selected in the "Details" tab of control description.

Modifications performed in a browsing Table or TreeView Table control

To modify a row in a browsing Table or TreeView Table control, we advise you to:

<Table>.ModifyLine function and ..Modified property

<Table>.ModifyLine has no influence on ..Modified. ..Modified is used to find out whether the current row was directly modified by the user (direct input in the control).
