Automatic update of editors
Do you have an active Internet connection on your development computer? You can automatically download the different editor updates (WINDEV, WEBDEV and WINDEV Mobile) thanks to "Automatic update". This mechanism studies your computer to find the PC SOFT products to upgrade and provides a list of available upgrades according to your configuration. This allows you to always use the most recent version of the PC SOFT products. No personal information is sent to the server. This mechanism is optional, it can be disabled at any time. You still have the ability to visit the PC SOFT Web site and to manually download the upgrades available for your PC SOFT products. To start Automatic Update: - Start WINDEV, WEBDEV or WINDEV Mobile.
- On the "Home" tab, in the "Online help" group, expand "Information on the Web" and select "Update XXX" (XXX corresponds to the product being used).
- The interface of "Automatic update" appears.
Remark: Depending on the configuration of Automatic Update, it is possible to launch this application at the start of the Windows session. Configure the products to be taken into account When Automatic Update starts for the first time, it searches for the different products used on the current computer. It may not find PC SOFT products, or detect products that are not suitable for you. To add a product: - In the Automatic Update title bar, click
. - In the menu that appears, select "Add a product to Automatic Update".
- In the file explorer, select the executable of the desired product and validate.

To "ignore" a product: - Once in Automatic Update, expand the context menu of the "Start" button of the product to be ignored.
- You can:
- Select "Do not update anymore": in this case, a lock appears in the product characteristics, indicating that updates will no longer be automatically checked for this product. Updates can be checked manually.
- Select "Hide from Automatic Update": in this case, the product will no longer appear in Automatic Update.
Caution: - If the options "Do not update anymore" and "Hide from Automatic Update" are enabled, the product will no longer appear in Automatic Update, and no automatic update search will be performed.
- If only "Hide from Automatic Update" is used, the product will no longer appear in Automatic Update. No automatic update search will be performed as long as the product is hidden.
Remark: It is possible to display hidden products by enabling the option "Show hidden products" via
the icon. Automatic search for updates When Automatic Update starts, it automatically checks for available updates for products that are visible and unlocked.
