Deletes a sub-key from the Windows registry.
Remark: RegistryDeleteKey deletes the sub-key, the values and the descendants of specified key.

Syntax
<Result> = RegistryDeleteKey(<Sub-key path>)
<Result>: Boolean
  • True if the sub-key was deleted or if the key does not exist,
  • False otherwise.
<Sub-key path>: Character string (with quotes)
Full path of sub-key to delete.
Windows Mobile This path can contain up to 255 characters and up to 16 levels.

32-bit application operating on a 64-bit system

On a 64-bit system, the 32-bit applications write to the registry from the following branch:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node

Equivalence

RegistryDeleteKey and ceRegistryDeleteKey have equivalent operating modes.
The only difference is:
  • RegistryDeleteKey handles the Mobile Device registry (Pocket PC) from a WINDEV Mobile application.
  • ceRegistryDeleteKey handles the Mobile Device registry (Pocket PC) from a WINDEV application.
Windows Mobile

Operating mode in GO mode and at runtime

In GO mode (simulation on the development computer), RegistryDeleteKey handles the registry of development computer.
At runtime, RegistryDeleteKey handles the Mobile Device registry (Pocket PC).
