Identifies the path of first sub-key of specified key in the Windows registry.

Syntax
<Result> = RegistryFirstSubKey([<Key path>])
<Result>: Character string
  • Full path of first sub-key for the specified key,
  • Empty string ("") if no sub-key was found.
<Key path>: Optional character string (with quotes)
Path of key to use. If this parameter is not specified, the path of first sub-key of "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" is returned.
Windows Mobile This path can contain up to 255 characters and up to 16 levels.

32-bit application operating on a 64-bit system

On a 64-bit system, the 32-bit applications write into the registry from the following branch:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node
Windows MobileUser code (UMC)

Equivalence

RegistryFirstSubKey and ceRegistryFirstSubKey have similar operating modes.
The only difference is:
  • RegistryFirstSubKey handles the Mobile Device registry (Pocket PC) from a WINDEV Mobile application.
  • ceRegistryFirstSubKey handles the Mobile Device registry (Pocket PC) from a WINDEV application.

Operating mode in GO mode and at runtime

In GO mode (simulation on the development computer), RegistryFirstSubKey handles the registry of development computer.
At runtime, RegistryFirstSubKey handles the Mobile Device registry (Pocket PC).
