DDEWarmLink (Function)
In french: DDELienTiède
Creates a warm link with a data.
Creating a "warm" link with a data means that the program will be notified by the server (connected program) whenever the linked data is modified but without receiving its value. Therefore, you must branch to a procedure in response to the DDE event used to modify a linked data (DDEEvent with the DDEtoModify event).
Example
MyConnection = DDEConnect("Excel", "Worksheet1")
DDEEvent("ModifProc", DDEtoModify)
DDEWarmLink(MyConnection, "L1C1", 1)
Syntax
<Result> = DDEWarmLink(<Connection identifier> , <Object> [, <Timeout>])
<Result>: Boolean
  • True if the link was created,
  • False if an error occurred (DDEError returns the details of the error).
<Connection identifier>: Integer
Connection identifier, returned by DDEConnect.
<Object>: Character string
Object of connection.
<Timeout>: Optional integer or optional Duration
Maximum wait duration (in seconds). If the command was not run:
  • If <Timeout> is specified, there is a delay of <Timeout> seconds before exiting DDEWarmLink.
  • If <Timeout> is not specified, there is an endless wait.
Remark: This parameter can correspond to:
  • an integer corresponding to the number of seconds,
  • a Duration variable,
  • the duration in clear ('1s' for example).
Remarks
A DDE link must not be enabled during a print: it must be disabled by DDEUnLink.
Component: wd290std.dll
Minimum version required
  • Version 9
