DDEUnLink (Function)
In french: DDEFinLien
Interrupts a link between an item and a data.
Remark: Breaking a "warm" or "hot" link with a data means that the program will no longer be notified by the server (connected program) when the linked data is modified (the "L1C1" cell of the "Sheet1" worksheet in the example below).
Example
MyConnection = DDEConnect("Excel", "Worksheet1")
// Same for DDEWarmLink
DDELink(MyConnection, "L1C1", 1)
// Various operations
// ...
DDEUnLink(MyConnection, "L1C1", 1)
Syntax
<Result> = DDEUnLink(<Connection identifier> , <Connection object> [, <Timeout>])
<Result>: Boolean
  • True if the link was interrupted,
  • False if an error occurred (DDEError returns the details of the error).
<Connection identifier>: Integer
Connection identifier, returned by DDEConnect.
<Connection object>: Character string
Object of connection to handle.
<Timeout>: Optional integer or optional Duration
Maximum wait duration (in seconds). If the command was not run:
  • If <Timeout> is specified, there is a delay of <Timeout> seconds before exiting DDEUnLink.
  • If <Timeout> is not specified, there is an endless wait.
Remark: This parameter can correspond to:
  • an integer corresponding to the number of seconds,
  • a Duration variable,
  • the duration in clear ('1s' for example).
Component: wd290std.dll
