Creating a deployment diagram

1. Click in the quick access buttons.
   • The new element window appears: click "Architecture", and then "UML".
   • The UML model creation wizard starts.
2. Select "Deployment diagram".
3. Specify the UML model into which the diagram is to be inserted.
4. Choose to edit the diagram directly.
5. Validate the new deployment diagram. The new model appears in the editor.

Creating a node class

1. On the "Deployment diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Node class". A new node class appears in the UML model.
2. Right-click the new node class and select "Description" in the context menu. The description window opens.
3. Specify:
   • the type of the node class.
   • the name of the node class. This name is displayed in the UML editor.
   • the stereotype of the node class.
   • the multiplicity factor of the node class.
4. Validate the description of the node class.

Creating a node instance

1. On the "Deployment diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Node instance". A new node instance appears in the UML model.
2. Right-click the new node instance and select "Description" in the context menu. The description window opens.
3. Specify:
   • the type of the node instance.
   • the name of the node instance. This name is displayed in the UML editor.
   • the stereotype of the node instance.
4. Validate the description of the node instance.

Creating a connection

1. On the "Deployment diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Connection".
2. Select the different elements to link. The connection creation wizard starts.
3. Specify:
   • the cardinalities of the connection.
   • the role of the elements linked by the connection.
   • the caption of the connection. This caption will be displayed in the UML editor.
4. Validate the description of the connection.

Creating a package

1. On the "Deployment diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Package". A new package appears in the UML model.
2. Right-click the new package and select "Description" in the context menu. The package description window opens.
3. Specify:
   • the name of the package. This name is displayed in the package in the UML editor.
   • the caption describing the purpose of the package.
   • the relationships of the package.
4. Validate the description of the package.
