Operations performed on activity diagrams
The following paragraphs explain: Creating an activity diagram To create an activity diagram: - Click
in the quick access buttons. - The new element window appears: click "Architecture", and then "UML".
- The UML model creation wizard starts.
- Select "Activity diagram".
- Specify the UML model into which the diagram is to be inserted.
- Choose to edit the diagram directly.
- Validate the new activity diagram. The new model appears in the editor.
Creating an activity To create an activity: - On the "Activity diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Activity". A new activity appears in the UML model.
- Right-click the new activity and select "Description" in the context menu. The activity description window opens.
- Specify:
- the type of the activity.
- the name of the activity. This name is displayed in the UML editor.
- On the "Activity diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Synchronization bar". A new synchronization bar appears in the UML model.
- The context menu (right click) of the synchronization bar is used to:
- change the orientation of the bar.
- change the color of the bar.
Creating an object To create an object: - On the "Activity diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Object". A new object appears in the UML model.
- Right-click the new object and select "Description" in the context menu. The object description window is opens.
- Specify:
- the type of the object.
- the name of the object. This name is displayed in the UML editor.
- the class of the object.
- the stereotype of the object.
- Validate the object description.
Creating a "Send signal" element To create a "Send signal" element: - On the "Activity diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Send signal". A new "Send signal" element appears in the UML model.
- Right-click "Send signal" and select "Description" in the context menu. The description window of the "Send signal" element opens.
- Specify:
- the type of the emission.
- the name of the emission. This name is displayed in the UML editor.
- Validate the description of the "Send signal" element.
Creating an "Accept event" element To create an "Accept event" element: - On the "Activity diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Accept event". A new "Accept event" element appears in the UML model.
- Right-click "Accept event" and select "Description" in the context menu. The description window of the "Accept event" element opens.
- Specify:
- the type of the emission.
- the name of the emission. This name is displayed in the UML editor.
- Validate the description of the "Accept event" element.
Creating a transition To create a transition: - On the "Activity diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Transition".
- Select the different elements to link.
- Right-click and select "Description" in the context menu of the new transition. The transition description window opens.
- Specify:
- the type of the transition.
- the name of the transition. This name is displayed in the UML editor.
- Validate the description of the transition.
Creating a package To create a package: - On the "Activity diagram" tab, in the "Creation" group, click "Package". A new package appears in the UML model.
- Right-click the new package and select "Description" in the context menu. The package description window opens.
- Specify:
- the name of the package. This name is displayed in the package in the UML editor.
- the caption describing the purpose of the package.
- the relationships of the package.
- Validate the description of the package.
