The steps for creating a RAD pattern

The steps for creating a RAD pattern are as follows:

Creating the "RAD Pattern" project.
Creating the different windows and pages of the pattern.
Generating the RAD pattern.
Using the RAD pattern.

Note: To create RAD patterns, this feature must be enabled in the editor:

Select "Tools .. Options .. Options of the environment".
In the "Environment" tab, check "Creation of RAD pattern".
Validate.

Using the RAD patterns

The pattern files

When generating the RAD pattern, a file named <Pattern Name>.Pattern is generated in the EXE sub-directory of the project. To be used in the different products, this file must be copied:

into the "\Programs\Data\Models\RAD\WD\Patterns" sub-directory for a WINDEV pattern.
into the "\Programs\Data\Models\RAD\WB\Patterns" sub-directory for a WEBDEV pattern.
into the "\Programs\Data\Models\RAD\WP\Patterns" sub-directory for a WINDEV Mobile pattern.

As soon as these files are copied, the new RAD patterns are available in the relevant product as Full Application RAD (and as window or page RAD/RID if necessary).

Generating a Full Application RAD

To generate a Full Application RAD:

Select "Workshop .. Full Application RAD".On the "Project" pane, in the "Generation" group, click "Full Application RAD".
Select the pattern to use and the skin template to apply if necessary.
Follow the different wizard steps.

Note: If the wizard for creating the full application RAD is used several time on the same project, you have the ability to only generate the elements corresponding to the files added to the analysis. A RAD update is automatically proposed whenever the analysis is modified: the necessary elements are added to the application generated by RAD.

Generating a window RAD/RID or a page RAD/RID

To generate a window or page RAD/RID:

Select "File .. New .. Window or page".Click among the quick access buttons. Click "Window" or "Page" in the wheel that is displayed.The window for creating a new element is displayed: click "Window" then "Window" or click "Page" then "Page".
To generate a RAD window or page, select the pattern to use in the "RAD" tab (as well as the skin template to use if necessary).
To generate a RID window or page, select the pattern to use in the "RID" tab (as well as the skin template to use if necessary).
Note: the RID windows or pages use the RAD patterns: the code found in the RAD patterns is not generated.
Follow the different wizard steps.

Note: In WEBDEV, only the dynamic pages use the RAD patterns.
