Editing a user account
To modify a WEBDEV account from the remote WEBDEV administrator:
  1. Select "Accounts" in the menu bar.
  2. Select an account and click the "Edit" button. The account description is displayed.
  3. The following information can be modified:
    • The personal information: This information is used to identify the site manager and to find out his personal details.
    • The "Account disabled" option: This option is used to temporarily disable a WEBDEV account: this account can no longer perform remote setups or updates, and it cannot use the remote WEBDEV administrator. However, the WEBDEV sites of this site manager will still be active and available.
    • The maximum number of connections allowed for all the dynamic sites of the site manager. This number applies to all the WEBDEV sites associated with this account. The site manager can distribute them among his dynamic WEBDEV sites via the remote administration tool.
    • The FTP directories and the directories of the WEBDEV applications
      • FTP transfer directory: Directory where the files required for the remote setup and update of a site will be transferred. This directory must be identical to the FTP transfer directory configured in the FTP server.
      • Home directory of sites: Directory where the files used by the different WEBDEV sites of this user are (or will be) installed. A subdirectory with the name of the site will be created for each site.
        Remark: The home directory of the sites is required to allow the site manager to perform a remote setup of the sites or to perform some remote updates of his sites.
      • Home directory of data files: Directory where the data files (HFSQL database) used by the different sites of this site manager are or will be installed. A subdirectory with the name of the site will be created for each site.

    • The account password: To change the password of a WEBDEV account, you must specify the password of the server administrator, then the new password of the account and its confirmation.
      The "Change the password" button is used to take the modification into account.
    • The WEBDEV sites: If no dynamic site was installed by the site manager on the server, then no site must be associated with him. When new dynamic WEBDEV sites are installed remotely (by FTP), these sites will be automatically assigned to the corresponding account. If the site manager has installed a WEBDEV site during a setup by physical media, his site will be displayed in the list of unassigned sites: the "Add" button is used to associate the account with the site.
