The "Window position preview" pane
Overview
The "Window position preview" pane is used to view and/or modify the opening position of the windows currently modified (according to the screen resolution used).
The popup menu (right click) of the "Window position preview" pane allows you to:
  • Visible resolutions: Makes it possible to view one or more resolutions used when the application is deployed ("1024x768", "1152x864", ... in the above example). These resolutions are represented by dots.
  • Reference resolutions: Makes it possible to view a reference resolution ("1280x1024" in the example above). This resolution is represented by a blue line.
  • Visible resolution text: Shows or not the characteristics of the displayed resolutions.
  • Selection of window opening mode (centered with respect to the screen, maximized, etc.). For more details, see Modifying the opening mode of the windows.
Displaying the "Window position preview" pane
To display the "Window position preview" pane, go to the "Home" tab, "Environment" group, expand "Panes", select "Panes", and then select "Window position preview".

Opening mode and position of the windows
The different opening modes are as follows:
  • Centered / screen: the window is centered in the screen.
  • Centered / parent: the window is centered in relation to the calling window.
  • Relative to the screen: the window is opened at the position defined in the "Window position preview" pane.
  • Relative to the parent: the window is opened at the position defined in the "Window position preview" pane. This position is relative to the calling window.
  • Maximized: the window is opened in full screen.
  • Off-screen: the window is not visible in the screen.

Modifying the opening mode of a window

To modify the opening mode of a window:
  1. Select the window in the "Window position preview" pane.
    Remark: To appear in the "Window position preview" pane, the windows must be opened in the window editor.
  2. Right-click to open the context menu.
  3. Select the requested opening mode.

Defining the opening position of a window in the "Window position preview" pane

To define the opening position of a window in the "Window position preview" pane:
  1. Select the window in the "Window position preview" pane.
    Remark: To appear in the "Window position preview" pane, the windows must be opened in the window editor.
  2. Hold down the left mouse button.
  3. Move the window to the requested position and release the mouse button.Remark: The opening mode and position of a window can also be defined in the "UI" tab of the description window ("Description" in the context menu of the window).
