Testing a WEBDEV site on a mobile device
It is increasingly common for developers to test websites on mobile devices. WEBDEV allows you to test projects and pages directly on a mobile device. This makes it possible to ensure pages are mobile friendly. Prerequisite - The mobile device and the development computer must be connected to the same network (Wi-Fi, for example).
- The web server must allow several simultaneous connections. This test mode is not available if you use the built-in IIS Express server.
Running the test Both projects and pages can be tested on a mobile devices. To test a project on a mobile device: - Expand the icon in the quick access buttons.
- Select "Test browser .. Phone (via a &QR code)"
- Run the test of the project by clicking the "GO" icon.
- A window with a QR code is displayed.
- Scan the QR code with the device.
- The first page of the project is displayed on the device.
To test the WEBDEV page displayed in the editor on a mobile device: - Expand the icon in the quick access buttons.
- Select "Test from a phone (access via a QR Code)".
- A window with a QR code is displayed.
- Scan the QR code with the device.
- The current page is displayed on the device.
Remark: Subsequent tests will be run on the device (via the QR code) until you select a different test mode. Remarks - Breakpoints (server code) are active on the device.
- You can set breakpoints after starting the test.
- The standard debug mode is available (step by step execution, ability to view variables, etc.).
