In a flexible modeling, the "Application", "Process" and "Choice" elements can be used to enter in a "sub-modeling". For example, the description of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) of a company may include the following sub-models: Management of customers, management of estimates, marketing, production, accounting, ... The  symbol is used to find out whether a sub-modeling can be created (the icon is grayed) or whether a sub-modeling is available. Handling the sub-modeling Creating a sub-modeling To create a sub-modeling from an element: - Select the element that must be linked to a sub-modeling (Application, Process or Choice).
- Select "Add a sub-modeling" from the popup menu of the element.
- The sub-modeling is created and it is automatically opened in the editor.
Remark: you also have the ability to associate an element with an existing sub-modeling. To do so, you must: - Select the element that must be linked to the sub-modeling.
- Select "Select an existing sub-modeling" from the popup menu of the element.
- Select the requested sub-modeling. This sub-modeling can belong to the current modeling or to another modeling.
- Validate.
- The element appears with the
symbol.
Entering into a sub-modeling To enter into the sub-modeling of an element: - Select the desired element.
- Select "Enter into the sub-modeling" from the popup menu of the element.
- The sub-modeling is automatically displayed.
Remark: if the element is linked to an existing sub-modeling, you have the ability to display this sub-modeling: - Select the desired element.
- Select "Follow the link to the sub-modeling" from the popup menu of the element.
- The sub-modeling is automatically displayed.
A sub-modeling can have several several "parent" models. Going back to the previous level of modeling To go back to the previous level, you can use: - the title bar of the sub-modeling. The different models are represented in the following format: "Modeling1> Sub-Modeling2>Sub-Modeling3". A click performed on the requested modeling is used to display it.
- the different panes on the left of the editor. Each pane corresponds to a modeling or to a sub-modeling. A click performed on the requested modeling is used to display it.
- "Back to parent" from the popup menu of the sub-modeling.
Deleting a sub-modeling To delete a sub-modeling: - Select the desired element.
- Select "Delete the sub-modeling" in the context menu.
Remark: If the element is linked to an existing sub-modeling, select "Delete the link to the sub-model".
