Overview
WDBal is a secure messaging, included in WINDEV, WEBDEV and WINDEV Mobile. This messaging tool allows communication between different developers in a team.
It can also be used to receive messages from the different environment tools:
  • SCM (Source Code Manager).
  • Control Center (management of incidents).
WDBal proposes all the advanced messaging functionalities:
  • Managing messages: New message, Acknowledgment of receipt, Deleting messages, Transferring messages, ...
  • Managing the search: search according to the sender or to the date, search among the outgoing or incoming messages, ...
  • Managing folders to store the incoming messages ans to sort them by theme.
The contributors proposed in WDBal are the contributors specified in the Project Management Hub. For more details, see Project Management Hub: Managing contributors.
Starting the messaging
To start the WDBal messaging:
  • from WINDEV, WEBDEV or WINDEV Mobile directly: on the "Tools" tab, in the "Control Centers" group, click "WDBal - Messaging".
  • run WDBal.exe, located in the "Programs" subdirectory of the WINDEV, WEBDEV or WINDEV Mobile installation directory.
  • display the "Messaging" pane in your work environment
  • add a "Messaging" tab in the Project Management Hub.
If the messaging is started in independent mode, it is displayed in "Mini-bar" format by default.
You have the ability to configure the display mode of the messaging in its options.
Caution: The WDBal messaging cannot be redistributed.

To configure the messaging options:
  • in "Mini-bar" mode: select "Tools .. Options of mail box".
  • in "Full display" mode: On the "Tools" tab, in the "Options" group, click "Options".
The available options are:
  • Save password at startup: Used to store the password associated with the user. The window for connecting to the messaging automatically proposes the password.
  • Minimize in the system tray: Used to minimize the application beside the clock. The icon becomes red when a new message is received.
  • Refresh during the restore operation (automatic F5): Used to automatically refresh the incoming messages when displaying messages. You also have the ability to refresh the list of messages by pressing the F5 key.
  • Automatically close the application after xx minutes: Used to close the messaging after a given idle time.
  • Mini-bar mode: Used to display the messaging in "Mini-bar" mode or in full mode.
  • Beep if there are more than 3 uppercase characters in a row: Used to signal a text typed in uppercase characters.
