Renames a file or a directory found on a Hadoop server.
Example
// Connection
MyConnection is hdfsConnection
MyConnection.namenode = "MyServer"
MyConnection.User = "Admin"
hdfsOpenConnection(MyConnection)
// Rename the file on the server
hdfsRename(MyConnection, "/tmp/former.txt", "/tmp/new.txt")
Syntax
<Result> = hdfsRename(<Connection> , <Former name> , <New name> [, <Options>])
<Result>: Boolean
  • True if the rename operation was performed,
  • False if a problem occurs. ErrorInfo is used to identify the error.
<Connection>: hdfsConnection variable
Name of the hdfsConnection variable that corresponds to connection to the Hadoop server.
<Former name>: Character string
Absolute path of the file or directory to rename on the Hadoop server. This path is case sensitive.
<New name>: Character string
New absolute path of the file or directory on the Hadoop server. This path is case sensitive.
<Options>: Optional Integer constant
Options for renaming:
hdfsDefault
(Default value)
If the destination file already exists, the renaming is not performed.
hdfsOverwriteIf the destination file already exists, it is replaced by the renamed file.
