Deletes a file or directory from a Hadoop server.
Example
// Connection
MyConnection is hdfsConnection
MyConnection.namenode = "MyServer"
MyConnection.User = "Admin"
hdfsOpenConnection(MyConnection)
// Delete the file from the server
hdfsDelete(MyConnection, "/tmp/test.data")
Syntax
<Result> = hdfsDelete(<Connection> , <Path> [, <Options>])
<Result>: Boolean
  • True if the deletion was performed,
  • False if a problem occurs. ErrorInfo is used to identify the error.
<Connection>: hdfsConnection variable
Name of the hdfsConnection variable that corresponds to connection to the Hadoop server.
<Path>: Character string
Absolute path of file or directory to delete from the Hadoop server. This path is case sensitive.
<Options>: Optional Integer constant
Deletion options:
hdfsDefault
(Default value)
A directory that is not empty will not be deleted.
hdfsRecursiveThe contents of directory and subdirectories are also deleted.
