The Address type is used to handle the address of a location or the address of a person. An address is defined by a postal address (street, city, state, zip code, country) and/or a geographic position (latitude and longitude). The characteristics of this address can be defined and modified by several WLanguage properties.

Properties specific to the description of Address variables

The following properties can be used to handle an Address variable:

Property name	Type used	Effect

ZipCode	Character string	Zip code of the address. This property is optional.
	Character string	Label for the types of custom addresses (optional). If Type does not correspond to the addressCustom constant, the value of this property will be ignored. This property is mainly used to manage the contacts.
Country	Character string	Name of the country. This property is optional.
Position	geoPosition variable	Geographic position of the address: latitude and longitude. This property is optional. If the geographic position is not specified, the PositionValid property of the geoPosition variable is set to False.
Region	Character string	Region associated with the address (state for an address in the USA, land for an address in Germany, etc.). This property is optional.
Street	Character string	Name of the street, road or avenue. This property is optional.
	Integer constant	Type of address: addressOther: other type of address. addressWork: professional address (office). addressHome: home address. addressCustom: custom type corresponding to the value of the Label property This property is mainly used to manage the contacts.
City	Character string	Name of city. This property is optional.

Address variables are used by the following functions:

Versions 18 and later MapAddItinerary New in version 18 MapAddItinerary MapAddItinerary	Adds an itinerary onto a Map control.
Versions 17 and later MapDisplayPosition New in version 17 MapDisplayPosition MapDisplayPosition	Centers the map displayed in a Map control on a geographical position or on a specific location.

Versions 17 and later Contact New in version 17 Contact Contact	The Contact type is used to define the advanced characteristics of a contact found in the phone book.

Reinitialization

To reinitialize the content of an Address variable, you can use VariableReset.
