The HTML edit control: Automatic formatting toolbar
Overview
In the HTML edit controls, a formatting toolbar can be automatically displayed as soon as the control becomes editable. The formatting options are automatically managed.
How to proceed?

Enabling the formatting toolbar for the HTML controls

To enable the formatting toolbar for the HTML controls:
  1. Display the description of an HTML edit control.
    • WEBDEV - Server code The edit control is an "HTML text" control.
  2. In the "General" tab, specify whether the control is using an HTML toolbar:

      The "Configuring the toolbar" button is used to select the options proposed by the toolbar.
  3. Validate.

Feature available in AAF

WEBDEV - Server code In an HTML edit control, the HTML toolbar is always visible or it is automatically displayed (depending on the option selected in the "General" tab of the description window of control).

Font used by default in the HTML toolbar

At run time, the HTML toolbar is initialized with the font, the size and the font attributes specified in the control description. This font can be modified by programming with the properties for font management.
Using the HTML formatting toolbar
WEBDEV - Server code The default HTML bar is as follows:
This bar allows you to choose:
  • The font used and its size.
  • Versions 17 and later
    The text-level semantics (div, h1, etc.).
    New in version 17

  • The font characteristics (bold, underlined, italic, strikeout).

Remark:
The colors proposed by default are the ones used by the skin of the site. All you have to do is click the requested color. This allows you to use consistent colors in the site.
