HFSQL server configuration
HFSQL Client/ServerAvailable only with this kind of connection
Overview
The HFSQL Control Center allows you to fully manage HFSQL servers.

To display the characteristics of an HFSQL server:
  1. Connect (if necessary) to an HFSQL server. For more details, see Managing HFSQL Client/Server databases.
  2. Double-click the name of HFSQL server in the tree structure.
  3. The right section of Control Center displays a tab with the server name. This tab includes:
    • several tabs used to manage the characteristics of HFSQL server.
    • a ribbon used to configure the HFSQL server.
In the ribbon, in the "Parameters" group, the "Server configuration" option allows you to configure the HFSQL server.

General
In the server configuration window, click "General". The following options are displayed:
Server configuration, 'General'
You can configure:
  • Location of the databases, i.e. the data files of the different HFSQL Client/Server applications. Shortcuts can be used to indicate the specific directories:
    • "%%EXE%%": Directory of Manta service.
    • "%%COMMONAPPDATA%%": Directory of data common to all applications.
  • Calculation of statistics on keys: Enabling this option allows you to automatically optimize the execution of queries and filters.
  • Local storage directory: This directory contains all the retrieved data (logs and statistics) in order to perform consolidations over long periods.
Logs
In the server configuration window, click "File logs". The following options are displayed:
Server configuration, 'File logs'
You have the ability to define the directory for the logs and their backup.
Logs
In the server configuration window, click "Server logs". The following options are displayed:
Server configuration, 'Server logs'
You can:
  • specify the directory of log files.
  • enable the backup of calls to the server in the log file.
  • enable the backup of call parameters in the log file.
You also have the ability to specify the maximum size for log file.
Activity statistics
In the server configuration window, click "Activity statistics". The following options are displayed:
Server configuration, 'Activity statistics'
The activity statistics are used to measure the server workload. You can:
  • enable the activity statistics,
  • specify the backup directory,
  • specify the maximum file size,
  • specify the period for calculating performance (in seconds).
System
In the server configuration window, click "System". The following options are displayed:
Server configuration, 'System'
  • Listening port,
  • Server user account (Linux only)
  • Allow sizes larger than 2GB for system files
  • Port for remote debugging, ...
Caches
In the server configuration window, click "Caches". The following options are displayed:
Server configuration, 'Caches'
  • Size of index cache.
Remark: in 32 bits, the size of index cache is limited to 1GB.
  • Disk cache (Windows server only): The standard management of Windows disk caches in 64-bit mode (independently from HFSQL) can create memory saturation. This option is used to customize the management of memory caches.
Notifications
In the server configuration window, click "Notifications"
This option is used to manage the recipients of notifications.
Caution: the configuration for sending notifications is required before adding recipients.
For more details, see Notifications of an HFSQL server.
Replication
In the server configuration window, click "Replication"
This option is used to configure the server replication. For more details, see HFSQL server replication.
Version
In the server configuration window, click "Version"
This option allows you to:
  • Find out the current version of the server:
    • Major version: Version corresponding to the version of the HFSQL engine used by the server.
    • Minor version: Number of the update used.
    • Language: Language used for the server.
The link "More details" is used to get the details of the modules used.
  • Implement the automatic server update. If this option is enabled, the HFSQL server can be automatically updated as soon as a new version is available:
    • on the PC SOFT server.
    • on a custom server.
For more details, see Updating the server.
Minimum version required
  • Version 14
