Stores the current position in the XML document. This enables you to temporarily suspend the current process in order for the XML document to be used somewhere else (to perform checks for example). The saved context can be restored by XMLRestorePosition. Then, the main process can continue.

Remark: XMLSavePosition saves the current filter (the filter is implemented by XMLFind).

Syntax

<Result> = XMLSavePosition(<XML document>)

<Result>: Integer

Number of the position that was saved,
-1 if an error occurred.

<XML document>: Character string

Name of the XML document used. This document contains the XML code to study and it was created by XMLDocument.

Remarks

Saving several positions

XMLSavePosition can be used several times to save several positions in the XML file. To do so, assign the position to different integer variables. Then, these different positions can be restored by XMLRestorePosition.

XML functions and threads

If your application uses threads, the XML document is shared between all these threads. For more details on threads, see Managing threads.
