Examples of bar charts with space in-between categories:
Spacing between categories
Reminder: The space between two data categories is equal to 10 pixels by default.
Example
// Space between two data categories in the "MyChart" column chart: 20 pixels
grColumnSpacing("MyChart", 20)
// Space between two data categories in the "CHART_MyChart" column chart: 15 pixels
grColumnSpacing(CHART_MyChart, 15)
Syntax
grColumnSpacing(<Chart name> , <Spacing>)
<Chart name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of chart to use. This name corresponds to:
  • the chart name defined by programming with grCreate.
  • the name of Chart control found in the window editor, page editor or report editor.
<Spacing>: Integer
Spacing (in pixels) between two categories.
Remarks

Spacing

If the destination is large enough, the spacing is expressed as follows:
Spacing
If the destination does not allow you to display the spacing, the spacing is set to 0: therefore, the bars are "stuck" together.

Effect due to spacing

  • The spacing between two data categories has no effect on the charts other than:
    • Column charts,
    • Versions 17 and later
      Funnel charts,
      New in version 17
      Funnel charts,
      Funnel charts,
    • Minimum/Maximum Stock charts.
  • The modifications performed by grColumnSpacing will be taken into account during the next call to grDraw.
