Retrieves a data from a chart.

Syntax
<Result> = grGetData(<Chart name> , <Series number> , <Subscript>)
<Result>: Real
Retrieved value.
<Chart name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of chart to use. This name corresponds to:
  • the chart name defined by programming with grCreate,
  • the name of Chart control (found in the window editor, page editor or report editor).
<Series number>: Integer
Number of the series for which a value will be retrieved.
If the specified series does not exist, the retrieved value is 0.
<Subscript>: Integer
Subscript of data in the series for which the value will be retrieved.
If the data corresponding to the specified subscript does not exist in the series, the retrieved value is 0.
Remarks
  • To retrieve data from a Stock chart, we recommend that you use grStockGetData.
  • To retrieve data from a Scatter chart, we recommend that you use grScatterGetDataXY.
  • To retrieve data from a Surface chart, we recommend that you use grSurfaceGetData.
  • Versions 21 and later
    To retrieve data from a Heatmap chart, we recommend that you use grHMGetData.
    New in version 21
    To retrieve data from a Heatmap chart, we recommend that you use grHMGetData.
    To retrieve data from a Heatmap chart, we recommend that you use grHMGetData.
  • By default, a chart created by grCreate contains no data.
