Returns a file path with standardized separators (separators corresponding to the ones for the current platform for example).
Remark: This function is very useful when using a WLanguage code run on several platforms (Windows/Linux for example) and that handles a file path.
Example
// Returns a Unix path
Trace(fSeparator(fCurrentDir(), fSeparatorUnix))

// Returns a Windows path
Trace(fSeparator(fCurrentDir(), fSeparatorWindows))
Syntax
<Result> = fSeparator(<Initial path> [, <Separator>])
<Result>: Character string
Standardized path.
Remark: <Result> and <Initial path> have the same type. For example, if <Initial path> is an ANSI character string, <Result> will also be an ANSI character string.
<Initial path>: Character string (ANSI or Unicode)
Directory or file path to standardize.
<Separator>: Optional character string or constant of Integer type
Separator to use for standardizing the path. Can be:
  • a character string: all the separators (\ and /) found in the <Initial path> parameter will be replaced with this string.
  • one of the following constants:
    fSeparatorPlatform
    (Default value)
    The separators ('\' and '/') will be replaced with the separator corresponding to the current platform.
    fSeparatorUnixThe separators ('\' and '/') will be replaced with the '/' separator.
    fSeparatorWindowsThe separators ('\' and '/') will be replaced with the '\' separator.
Component: wd290std.dll
Minimum version required
  • Version 15
