Overview
The first project window corresponds to the first window that will be opened when starting the WINDEV or WINDEV Mobile application.
This window is also the first window that will be opened during the project test on the development computer.
How to define the first project window?
WINDEV proposes several methods for defining and choosing the first project window:
Note: The first project window is also request during the project test, if no window was defined. See Running the test of a project for more details.

Defining the first project window in the "Project explorer" pane

To define the first project window:
  1. In the "Project explorer" pane, select the window that will be defined as first window.
  2. Display the popup menu of window (right mouse click) and select "First project window".

    The First Window icon icon is used to identify the first project window in the "Project explorer" pane.
Versions 21 and later
AndroidiPhone/iPad If the application is intended to be used on phones and tablets, a first window can be defined for each use:
  1. In the "Project explorer" pane, select the window that will be defined as first window.
  2. Display the popup menu of window (right mouse click).
  3. Select:
    • "First window for phones" to define the first window that will be displayed when the application is run on a phone.
    • "First window for tablets" to define the first window that will be displayed when the application is run on a tablet.
New in version 21
AndroidiPhone/iPad If the application is intended to be used on phones and tablets, a first window can be defined for each use:
  1. In the "Project explorer" pane, select the window that will be defined as first window.
  2. Display the popup menu of window (right mouse click).
  3. Select:
    • "First window for phones" to define the first window that will be displayed when the application is run on a phone.
    • "First window for tablets" to define the first window that will be displayed when the application is run on a tablet.

Note: If the project includes several configurations, a first window can be defined for each configuration. To do so, you must:
  1. Select the requested project configuration in the project explorer.
  2. Define the first project window in the popup menu of the project explorer.

Defining the first window from the project graph

To define the first project window:
  1. Display the project graph.
  2. In the project graph, select the window that will be defined as first window.
    Note: To select a window in the project graph, type the first letters of the name of the window to select: the sought window is automatically selected.
  3. Display the popup menu of window (right mouse click) and select "First project window".

To define the first window in the project description:
  1. Display the project description ("Project .. Project description").Display the project description: on the "Project" pane, in the "Project" group, click "Description".
  2. In the "First window" list, select the window that will be the first project window.

AndroidiPhone/iPad If the application is intended to be used on phones and tablets, the first project window defined in the project description will be used as first window on phones and tablets.

To define the first window in the ribbon:
  1. Display the requested window in the window editor.
  2. On the "Window" pane, in the "Edit" group, check "1st project window".

  1. Display the requested window in the window editor.
  2. On the "Window" pane, in the "Edit" group, check "1st project window".

Defining the first window during the project test

To run the test of a project from the editor, select "Project .. Test mode .. Debug the project" ([Ctrl] + [F9]). The editor is automatically minimized and the project is run.To run the test of a project from the editor:
  1. On the "Project" pane, in the "Test mode" group, expand "Test mode" and select "Debug the project" ([Ctrl] + [F9]). You also have the ability to click among the quick access buttons.
  2. If the first project window was not defined, a window is displayed, allowing you to select the first project window.

    • a window used to define the first project window on the phones.
    • a window used to define the first project window on the tablets.
