Overview
One of the most important elements of the control style is its border. Several settings are available:
  • rounded corners,
  • thickness of border,
  • ...
The report editor allows you to easily define borders, in the editor directly or via the description window of controls.The report editor and the window editor allow you to easily define borders, in the editor directly or via the description window of controls.
The formatting of custom borders is available:
  • in the report editor for all types of controls and for the blocks.
  • Versions 20 and later
    WINDEV in the window editor for the Static controls and Image controls.

How to proceed?

Defining a border in the editor

To define the options of a border in the editor:
  1. Select the requested control.
  2. Press the [ALT] key on the keyboard. The picto appears in the top right corner of the control.
  3. Keep the [ALT] key down and click the picto. The configuration options are displayed:
  4. You can configure:
    • the rounding. The "Rounding" area is used to define the size of the rounding as well as the corner onto which it will be applied.
    • the thickness, the color and the type of border, as well as the side onto which it will be applied.
  5. To validate, click anywhere in the editor.
To configure the rounding, you have the ability to:
  • Select the corners to take into account by clicking the "Rounding" square or by selecting the orange dots corresponding to the corners in the control (several corners can be selected via the CTRL key).
  • Configure the shape of the rounding by modifying the width and height or by moving the orange dot in the editor.
Note: When the rounding is defined for a corner, the configuration can be applied to one of the other corners via the "Apply to..." button.
To configure the edge, you have the ability to:
  • Select the lines to take into account by clicking the "Thickness" square or by selecting the control sides directly (several sides can be selected via the CTRL key).
  • Configure the characteristics of the line: by selecting the thickness, the color and the type of line.
    Versions 22 and later
    Android The type of line will be taken into account only if the thickness and the color of lines are identical for all the borders and if the rounding is identical for the 4 corners.

Defining a border in the description window

To define the options of a border in the description window of the control:
  1. Select the requested control.
  2. Display the description window ("Description" from the popup menu).
  3. Display the "Style" tab.
    • Versions 20 and later
      In the window editor, select the "Outside border" element. In the "Border" section, select "Custom" and click the arrow. The border editor appears.
      New in version 20

    • In the report editor, select the "Border" element.
  4. You can configure:
    • the rounding in the preview area directly or in the "Rounding" area.
    • the style of border.

  5. Validate the description window.
