Overview
A maximized window occupies the entire screen of the mobile device.
Several options can be configured in the wizard for window creation:

Reminder: To start the wizard for window creation, select "File .. New .. Window .. Wizard for creating blank windows". Reminder: To start the wizard for window creation, click among the quick access buttons.
  • Click "Window" in the wheel that is displayed. The window for creating a new element is displayed: click "Window" then "Window".
  • Select "Wizard" and validate.
Characteristics of maximized windows

Close/OK button

The "OK/Close" button is used to close or validate the current window. This button is associated with a specific process of the window: "Before closing with the OK/Close button". This process is run before the closing code of window.
By default, this button is used to close the window (the code of this button corresponds to Close).
Operating mode of the Close button
The following processes are run:
  • running the "Before closing with OK/Close button" process.
  • running the code of the "Cancel" button found in the window (if this button exists). If the window contains no "Cancel" button, the window is closed.
Operating mode of the OK button
The following processes are run:
  • running the "Before closing with OK/Close button" process.
  • running the code of the "Validate" button found in the window (if this button exists). If the window contains no "Validate" button, the window is closed.
Note: the window will not be closed if the "Before closing with the OK/Close button" process calls ReturnToCapture.
The type of the button can be changed at any time in the editor:
  • via the popup menu of the button:
  • in the "Style" tab of the window description ("System buttons").

Top bar

The top bar created by the wizard corresponds to a Shape control. This control can be deleted from the window at any time. This bar is used to display information (title, current directory, and so on), buttons, .

Scrollbar

The scrollbars will be automatically displayed if the size of the window is greater than the resolution of the screen on the Pocket PC used.
This option can be chosen at any time in the window description ("Details" tab).
Caution: In full-screen mode, the automatic scrollbars are never displayed in a maximized window.

Tabs

The tabs are used to display information about the different panes. The user will only have to choose the requested tab.

Menu and toolbar

In an application for Windows Mobile, the menu is found at the bottom of windows. A drop-down menu allows the user to quickly access one of the features of the application.
Adding a drop-down menu to a window or deleting a drop-down menu from a window can be done at any time:
  • via "Windows .. Main menu .. Add the main menu".
  • in the "Style" tab of the window description ("With status bar/menu" and "Enable the main menu")

Size of a maximized window
The usable size of a maximized window depends on the elements taken into account in the window (title bar visible or not, toolbar visible or not, status bar visible or not, ...).
WINDEV Mobile allows you to configure all these elements in your windows:
  • The "Style" tab of the window description is used to configure:
    • The display of the title bar
    • The display of the toolbar
    • The display of the status bar.
      You also have the ability to select "Windows .. Status bar .. With status bar". See Status bar of a window for more details.Other possibility: On the "Window" pane, in the "Bars and menus" group, expand "Status Bar" and select "With status bar". See Status bar of a window for more details.
  • The "Details" tab of the window description is used to configure the size of the window:
Size of the window in the window editor Size of the window visible by the user on the Pocket PC. This size is defined:
  • by the size options (display of the toolbar, ...).
  • according to the selected runtime platform (see Runtime platform for more details).
Note: The size is represented by a dotted line in the window editor.
