Overview
The Quality Control Center allows you to keep a history of incidents that occurred in your applications.
The main window of the Quality Control Center lists all the incidents referenced for the specified sort criteria:
In this window, the main elements are as follows:
1. Filters used to view the incidents: you have the ability to select the incidents regarding:
  • a person,
  • a project,
  • the incidents to fix,
  • the fixed incidents,
  • the incidents linked to a list of requirements,
  • Versions 16 and later
    the incidents linked to a requirement,
    New in version 16
    the incidents linked to a requirement,
    the incidents linked to a requirement,
  • ...
2. Toolbar for managing incidents. Used to add an incident, to view the details of an incident, ...
3. List of incidents corresponding to the specified filters. The list of incidents can be printed via "Print .. List of incidents".
4. Details of selected incident.
How to proceed?

Adding an incident

Several methods can be used to add an incident:
  1. Adding an incident into the Quality Control Center.
  2. Adding an incident when processing the user requests.
  3. Adding an incident via the messaging supplied with WINDEV, WEBDEV and WINDEV Mobile.
  4. Adding an incident from the window for managing requirements.
To add an incident from the Quality Control Center:
  1. Select "Incidents .. New incident" (CTRL + N) or click the "+" button found in the toolbar of the Quality Control Center.
  2. If a task is linked to a requirement in progress, the Quality Control Center proposes to link the new incident to this requirement. This option can be modified in the setting of Quality Control Center.
  3. Specify the main characteristics of the incident:
    • Author (the person connected to the Quality Control Center is selected by default).
    • Contributor affected by the incident.
    • Project and project version if necessary.
    • The incident can be a priority incident or not. The priority incident can be easily identified in the list of incidents of the Quality Control Center.
    • The type of incident. The different types of incidents can be configured by an administrator via "Management .. Manage the types of incidents".
  4. Specify the description of the incident. You have the ability to add a screen shot, to format the text, ...
  5. In the lower section of the screen, add additional information if necessary:
    • The "Various" tab is used to specify the reproduction protocol of the incident. You also have the ability to include an attachment (a zip file for example).
    • The "Links" tab is used to link the incident to a task or to a requirement.
  6. Validate. The incident is automatically added.

Modifying an incident

To modify an incident:
  1. Select the incident to modify in the list of incidents.
  2. The incident can be modified:
    • Via "Modify" from the popup menu.
    • Via "Incidents .. Edit the incident" (CTRL + E).
    • By a double click performed on the line.

Fixing an incident

To fix an incident:
  1. Select the incident to fix in the list of incidents.
  2. The incident can be fixed:
    • Via "Correct" from the popup menu.
    • Via "Incidents .. Correct the incident" (CTRL + ENTER).
  3. Specify (if necessary) the information regarding the correction. This information will be automatically inserted into the incident form.
Notes:
  • If the incident is linked to a task, the incident is automatically fixed when the task is completed (and conversely).
  • You also have the ability to fix the incident from its description ("Correction" tab at the bottom of the screen).
  • If the contributor who created the incident is using the messaging (WDBal) supplied with WINDEV, WEBDEV and WINDEV Mobile, a message indicating that the incident was fixed will be automatically sent to him. The links between the messaging and the Quality Control Center are configured in the parameters of Quality Control Center.
Options accessible from the popup menu of an incident
The popup menu of the list of incidents is used to:
  • Create a new incident.
  • Modify an incident. The description of the incident is automatically displayed.
  • Fixing an incident. A window is displayed, allowing you to enter the correction information.
  • Print an incident. The print preview of the incident description is displayed.
  • Reassign an incident. All you have to do is select the relevant contributor. You also have the ability to specify the reasons for the assignment.
  • Manage the notification. By default, the notification options are the ones specified during the setting of Quality Control Center ("Messaging" tab). However, the user can:
    • be notified when the incident is archived or fixed.
    • ask for a notification for several contributors. An additional message can be added to the message sent by default.
      Reminder: the notifications are sent via the messaging tool named WDBal.
  • Delete an incident. This operation can be performed by authorized persons only.
  • Link the incident to a new task or to an existing task. This allows you to create a "Debugging" task linked to one or more incidents of Quality Control Center.
Transferring forms between two batches of incidents
Versions 15 and later
You have the ability to transfer all the incidents from a batch to another one. To do so:
  1. Open the window for managing the batches of incidents via "Management .. Managing the groups of incidents".
  2. Click the Transfer the incidents button
Notes
  • You can choose to only transfer some incidents (pending, fixed, etc.).
  • The transfer of incidents cannot be reversed.

You have the ability to transfer all the incidents from a batch to another one. To do so:
  1. Open the window for managing the batches of incidents via "Management .. Managing the groups of incidents".
  2. Click the Transfer the incidents button

Attaching a reproduction project

To attach a reproduction project, click the "Wizard for entering reproduction information" button in the window for entering a new incident. A wizard will help you select a project, attach a screen copy and/or a comment.
This wizard is also accessible when entering a new incident by using the messaging of Control Centers.

Retrieving a reproduction project attached to an incident form

When the incident is processed by the developer, the reproduction project can be retrieved locally by selecting "Install the reproduction elements" from the popup menu of the table of incidents.
