Managing HFSQL Classic databases

From version 17, this feature is not available anymore: it is no longer possible to describe a HFSQL Classic application.
Overview
To manage the HFSQL Classic databases, the HFSQL Control Center is used to store a list of applications.
These applications are defined by:
  • a name. This name is used to easily organize your databases (it can correspond to the name of the executable, to the name of the analysis or to any other name).
  • an analysis (.WDD file). You have the ability to view the information about the analysis and the information about the data files described in the analysis.
  • one or more deployment directories. These directories are the physical directories containing the data files of the application. Several deployment directories can be used for the same application. Example: local directory for test, deployment directory for test, real deployment directory, ...
For each application, the HFSQL Control Center is used to:

Describing a HFSQL Classic application

To describe a HFSQL Classic application:
  1. Start the HFSQL Control Center (if not already done).
  2. Select the "HFSQL Classic" pane.
  3. Click the button to add an application.
  4. Specify the information regarding the application:


    Note: No information about the data files can be retrieved if the analysis is not specified.
  5. Validate. The application appears in the "HFSQL Classic" pane.
  6. Select the application in the pane. The menu for managing the applications is displayed.

Associating a HFSQL Classic application with data files

To associate a HFSQL Classic application with data files:
  1. Start the HFSQL Control Center (if not already done).
  2. In the "HFSQL Classic" pane, select the requested application.
  3. Select "Add a deployment directory" from the popup menu of the application name (or click the "Associate a deployment direction" button in the right section).
  4. Select the directory containing the data files of the application and validate.
  5. In the "HFSQL Classic" pane, the path of data files is displayed. The description of the database is displayed when this path is selected.

Managing applications

To add, modify or delete an application, all you have to do is select the name of an application. The window for managing the applications is displayed on the right of the screen.
