Creating a synchronization
WDSynchro is used to manage different "Synchronizations". Each "synchronization" contains all the parameters required to perform the synchronization:
  • a WINDEV application found on the current computer,
  • with a Pocket PC application found on the Pocket PC currently connected to the computer.
To create a new synchronization:
  1. Click the "Create a new synchronization" button. The wizard for creating a synchronization starts. Go to the next screen.
  2. Enter the name of the application to synchronize. This name will be displayed in ActiveSync. Go to the next screen.
  3. Select:
    • The location of the analysis on the PC (.WDD file).
    • The location of the analysis on the Pocket PC (.WDD file).
  4. Select the files to synchronize. You can:
    • Modify the synchronization order. Indeed, a file can be synchronized before another file.
    • Specify the password of each file. In this case, the same password must be used in the WINDEV application and in the application for Pocket PC.
  5. Specify the path of the data files on PC. If necessary, a specific path can be specified for each data file.
  6. Specify the path of the data files on Pocket PC. If necessary, a specific path can be specified for each data file.
  7. By default, the synchronization is performed according to the options for conflict resolution defined in ActiveSync ("Tools .. Options", "Rules" tab).
To customize this synchronization, you must use a WINDEV library (.WDL file) containing a set of procedures. See Customizing a synchronization for more details.
Specify (if necessary) the path of the WINDEV library (.WDL file) used to customize the synchronization.
  8. To use the icon of a WINDEV application in ActiveSync, specify the path of the WINDEV application (.EXE file) associated with the requested icon.
  9. Validate. Specify whether the synchronization must be installed on the Pocket PC that is currently connected.
  10. Restart ActiveSync to take the new synchronization into account.
