From version 09 (34), the operating mode described in this help page is kept for backward compatibility with version 5.5.
Creating an executable without library is not recommended.
Overview
When creating an executable, you can choose to use no library or not to include all the project elements in the library.
This option can be used for example:
  • for the projects that present an outline of an application,
  • for the internal applications that require fast updates.
In this case, the files corresponding to the different project elements as well as the associated compiled files must be included in the directory of the executable.
Note: For the windows and reports, stand-alone windows and reports must be created (in other words, the compiled code must be included in the window file or in the report file).
Stand-alone windows and reports

Changing the current window into a stand-alone window

To change the current window into a stand-alone window, in the "Details" tab of the window description, check "Include the compiled code".
When saving the window, the compiled code will be automatically included in the WDW file of the window.

Changing the current report into a stand-alone report

To change the current report into a stand-alone report, in the "Details" tab of the report description, check "Include the compiled code".
When saving the report, the compiled code will automatically be included in the WDE file of the report.
Note: If this report is modified, the executable must be re-created in order to take these modifications into account.
Elements to install for an executable without library
If your executable manages no library, the following elements must be installed in the directory of the executable:
  1. For the windows (WDW files) and the reports (WDE files):
    • if stand-alone windows and reports have been created, copy them into the directory of the executable.
    • otherwise, copy the corresponding WDW and WDE files into the directory of the executable as well as the WCW and WCE files (found in the CPL sub-directory of your project).
  2. For the classes (WDC file), the sets of procedures (WDG file) and the project (WDP file): copy the corresponding WDC, WDG and WDP files into the directory of the executable as well as the WCC, WCG and WCP files (found in the CPL sub-directory of your project).
  3. For the queries, copy the corresponding file (WDR file) to the executable directory.
