Automatic index generation
Overview
The automatic generation of index proposes the index keywords from the content of your help page.
The keywords must still be checked. However, this feature is used to automatically search for existing keywords in the help page according to specific criteria.
How to proceed?
To start the automatic index generation:
  1. Select the help page to use.
  2. Select "Automatic index" from the popup menu of the help page (or "Help system .. Automatic index").Select "Automatic index" from the popup menu of the help page.
  3. In the window that is displayed, select the options required to automatically search for the keywords. See the paragraph below for more details.
  4. Click the "Find" button to start the search.
  5. Select the keywords that will be associated with the page. A checkmark is displayed in front of each selected keyword.
  6. Add new keywords if necessary ("Add" button).
  7. Validate. The selected keywords are automatically associated with the current page.

  • on the "Modification" pane, in the "Table of contents" group, click "Description".
  • in the "Index" tab, click the "Auto index" button.
Options for selecting keywords
The options for selecting the keywords are as follows:
  • Include the keywords in uppercase characters: If this option is checked, all the proposed keywords will be automatically written in uppercase characters in the index.
  • Search for keywords in uppercase characters: If this option is included in the search, all the words written in uppercase characters found in the text of the help page will be automatically proposed as keywords. If this options is excluded from the search, none of the words written in uppercase characters found in the page will be proposed.
  • Include the keywords in lowercase characters: If this option is included in the search, all the words written in lowercase characters found in the text of the help page will be automatically proposed as keywords. If this option is excluded from the search, none of the words written in lowercase characters found in the page will be proposed.
  • Include the keywords in mixed case: If this option is included in the search, all the words that use both uppercase and lowercase characters found in the text of the help page will be automatically proposed as keywords. If this option is excluded from the search, none of the words that use both lowercase and uppercase characters found in the page will be proposed.
  • Include the words containing than three letters: If this option is included in the search, all the words containing less than 3 letters found in the text of the help page will be automatically proposed as keywords. If this option is excluded from the search, no word containing less than 3 letters will be proposed.
