Overview
By default, the codes available in the code editor correspond to the most common codes.
However, the windows, the pages and their controls can manage optional processes (or optional events).
This allows you to manage according to the platforms:
  • WINDEVAndroidiPhone/iPadWindows MobileJava For the windows and their controls:
    • Versions 16 and later

    In these optional processes, you have the ability to find out the different actions performed by the user (key pressed, use of mouse wheel, ...).
  • WEBDEV - Server code For the pages and their controls:
    • the click, the double click
    • the key down, the key pressed, the key up
    • the mouse moved, outside, above,
    • the button up,
    • the loss of focus, modification, gain of focus,
    • the selected text,
    • the help,
    • the upload, the download,
    • the reinitialized form, the form sent,
    • Versions 16 and later
      the switch to on-line or off-line mode,

Adding an optional process
To add an optional process into a window, a page or a control found in a window or in a page:
  1. Select the requested window, page or control.
  2. Display the code window of this window, page or control ([F2] key).
  3. Select the optional process to manage in the icon bar found at the bottom of code window. To display all the available processes, press the [...] button.

The selected optional process is automatically added into the processes managed by the window, page or control.
Caution: The optional process is always run (unlike the standard processes), including during a call to Wait or to Multitask.
To add an optional process into a window, a page or a control found in a window or in a page:
  1. Select the requested window, page or control.
  2. Display the code window of this window, page or control ([F2] key).
  3. Click the link "Add other processes to xxx" found at the end of window code, after the last process.
  4. All the optional processes available for the element are displayed. For example, for a window:
  5. Check the optional process to add and validate.
    Note: You have the ability to select several optional processes.
  6. The selected optional process is automatically added into the processes managed by the window, page or control.
Caution: An optional process is always run (unlike the standard processes), including during a call to Wait or to Multitask.
Actions performed by the user
Various information is returned to the WINDEV or WINDEV Mobile application according to the optional process used.

Tricky to find those optional process icons
At least it took me a long time. I was looking in the main toolbar, but the icons are at the bottom of the code window. And they only appear when you're in suitable code location.
