Characteristics of item
A List Box control can correspond to an item found in a data file, in a query, ...
The following types of items can be associated with a list box:
  • Text
  • Numeric
  • Date or Time
  • Radio button, List box, Combo box
The item associated with a list box contains the subscript of the element selected in the list box.
Note: When an item is associated with a list box, the content of the list box is the same for all the file records. The content of the list box can be typed in the data model editor or in the page editor, or it can be assigned by programming (ListAdd).
To retrieve the content of a single-selection List Box in an item

To select in the list box the value stored in the item:

1st case: the window or the page is associated with a data file
All the items of the data file (or linked file) associated with a control found in the window (or in the page) will be assigned by:
2nd case: the window or the page is not associated with a specific data file
Each control must be assigned individually. Use the following syntax:
<FileName>.<ItemName> = <Name of List Box>

To retrieve the content of the List Box control in an item

1st case: the window or the page is associated with a data file
All the items of the data file (or linked file) associated with a page control will be assigned by:
2nd case: the window or the page is not associated with a specific data file
Each control must be assigned individually. Use the following syntax:
<FileName>.<ItemName> = <Name of List Box>
