Linking a WEBDEV slider to an item
Characteristics of item
A WEBDEV slider can correspond to an item found in a data file, a query, ...
For a linear slider, the item contains the value defined by the slider cursor.
The characteristics of the item are as follows:
  • the item is an Integer.
  • the item contains the value of the position for the slider cursor. This position corresponds to the value of the slider.
  • the item value must be included between the minimum value and the maximum value of the slider.
For a range slider, two items are associated with the control:
  • an item containing the value of the main cursor (lower value).
  • an item containing the secondary value (upper value).
The characteristics of the items are as follows:
  • the items are Integers.
  • the items contain the values of the slider cursors. These values correspond to the minimum and maximum values of the slider.
  • the value of each item must be included between the minimum value and the maximum value of the slider.
Handling the item and the slider

Assigning the item content to the slider

1st case: the page is associated with a data file
All the controls associated with an item found in the data file (or in a linked file) will be assigned by FileToPage.
2nd case: the page is not associated with a specific data file
The controls must be assigned one by one via the following syntax:
  • Linear Slider control:
    <Name of Slider Control> = <FileName>.<ItemName>
  • Range Slider control:
    <Name of Slider Control>..LowerValue = <FileName>.<NameOfItem1>
    <Name of Slider Control>..UpperValue = <FileName>.<NameOfItem2>

Retrieving the slider content in an item

1st case: the page is associated with a data file
All the items found in the data file (or in a linked file) associated with a page control will be assigned by PageToFile.
2nd case: the page is not associated with a specific data file
The controls must be assigned one by one via the following syntax:
  • Linear Slider control:
    <FileName>.<ItemName> = <Name of Slider Control>
  • Range Slider control:
    <FileName>.<NameOfItem1> = <Name of Slider Control>..LowerValue
    <FileName>.<NameOfItem2> = <Name of Slider Control>..UpperValue
