Overview
You have the ability to create Scheduler controls directly linked to the data. You can create:
  • a browsing Scheduler control: the Scheduler control will be linked to a data file or to a query. In this case, the data file contains the characteristics of appointments.
  • a Scheduler control on source: the Scheduler control will be linked to a variable (a class instance in most cases). In this case, the class lists the appointments with their characteristics.
The programming of the Scheduler controls is simplified.
How to proceed?

Creating a browsing Scheduler control

To create a browsing Scheduler control, you can:
  • use the wizard for creating the Scheduler control. To do so, select "Display the data found in an existing file or query". Answer the questions asked by the wizard and validate.
  • modify the description of the Scheduler control.
To modify the characteristics of an existing Scheduler control:
  1. Display the description window of control ("Description" from the popup menu).
  2. In the "Content" tab, select "File" and select the data source used. This data source can be:
    • a data file defined in the analysis,
    • a query of the project,
    • a query included in the window or in the page.
  3. Associate the different items of the data source with the characteristics of the appointment. The elements preceded by a star are mandatory.
Note: If the associated data file does not directly contain the corresponding item, you have the ability to perform a multi-file link.
  4. Validate the description window of the Scheduler control. The Scheduler control is a browsing scheduler.

To create a Scheduler control on source

To create a Scheduler control on source, you can:
  • use the wizard for creating the Scheduler control. To do so, select "Display the data found in an existing variable". Answer the questions asked by the wizard and validate.
  • modify the description of the Scheduler control.
To modify the characteristics of an existing Scheduler control:
  1. Display the description window of control ("Description" from the popup menu).
  2. In the "Content" tab, select "Variable" and select the data source used (class, ...).
  3. Associate the different elements (members of the class for example) of the data source with the characteristics of the appointment. The elements preceded by a star are mandatory.
  4. Validate the description window of the Scheduler control. The Scheduler control is a scheduler on source.
Handling a browsing Scheduler control or a Scheduler control on source

Browsing Scheduler control

A browsing Scheduler control can be easily handled:
  • WINDEV If the user handles the schedule via the popup menu of the control, the additions, deletions and modifications made to the appointments will be automatically applied to the data file linked to the control.
  • WEBDEV - Server code If the user handles the appointment via the mouse (deletion via the cross, addition, move of appointments), the operations performed will be automatically applied to the data file linked to the control.
  • If the user handles the appointments via a specific window or via a specific page, all you have to do is modify the data file linked to the schedule. The displayed data will be automatically refreshed. You also have the ability to use SchedulerDisplay to update the data displayed in the control.
Note: If the control is linked to a data source, the deletion performed in the control is performed at the same time in the linked data source.

Scheduler control on source

A Scheduler control on source can be easily handled:
  • WINDEV If the user handles the schedule via the popup menu of the control, the additions, deletions and modifications made to the appointments will be automatically applied to the data source of the control.
  • WEBDEV - Server code If the user handles the appointment via the mouse (deletion via the cross, addition, move of appointments), the operations performed will be automatically applied to the data source of the control.
  • If the user handles the appointments via a specific window or via a specific page, all you have to do is modify the elements linked to the schedule (class members for example). The displayed data will be automatically refreshed. You also have the ability to use SchedulerDisplay to update the data displayed in the control.
Note: If the control is linked to a data source, the deletion performed in the control is performed at the same time in the linked data source.
