Deletes a Name/IP Address relation from a DNS server.

Syntax
<Result> = DNSDeleteAddress(<Name> [, <IP address> [, <DNS server> [, <User> [, <Password>]]]])
<Result>: Boolean
  • True if the deletion was performed,
  • False otherwise. ErrorInfo returns more details about the problem.
<Name>: Unicode character string (with quotes)
Name to delete from the DNS. This parameter has the following format: <Computer Name> + "." + <Domain>. Example: "testdoc.pcsoft.com"
<IP address>: Optional character string (with quotes)
IP address associated with the name to delete. This IP address can be a version 4 IP address (in the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx format) or version 6 (in the aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd:eeee:ffff:gggg:hhhh:iiii:jjjj format).
If this parameter corresponds to an empty string (""), all the associations of the name with an IP address will be deleted.
<DNS server>: Optional character string (with quotes)
Address of the DNS server to update. The "IP Address/Name" association will be deleted from this server. By default, the current DNS server is used.
<User>: Optional Unicode character string (with quotes)
Name of the user used to sign the request.
<Password>: Optional Unicode character string (with quotes)
Password associated with the user to sign the request.
Remarks
  • This function supports the Linux and Windows DSN servers that do not require signed requests.
  • This function supports the Linux and Windows DSN servers that require signed requests.
